Surrounded by Beauty

Seattle has a bad rap.  And we Seattleites like it that way.  

Everybody thinks it constantly rains and must be so utterly depressing here. The reason I bring this up? Yeah, it may rain for a few hours, but usually it'll dry up fairly quickly.  More importantly, it leaves us with absolutely beautiful greenery and parks throughout the city.  Cristina and I are doing our best to take full advantage of this beauty, and having some fun with Andrew while we're at it... 

We often find ourselves at Green Lake park -- It has a three mile loop around the lake, so it's perfect for our running and all the people, wildlife and scenery keeps Andrew entertained. A typical evening resembles something like the two photos below:

                        

Another favorite spot is Kerry Park:

And again...

While it is the iconic view point of Seattle, it has a great and somewhat forgotten park just below it.  And even more beautiful than the view, a little boy who absolutely loves the slides.

We were pretty sure he couldn't be any happier than he was going down this slide...

Until we took him down the bigger slide where his excitement skyrocketed...

There is nothing quite as rewarding as hearing your little boy laugh out of pure joy and excitement.

We certainly miss our friends and family in the many places we have lived the last few years, but we are doing our best to enjoy our current home.  Andrew is growing up so fast, and his development seems to be more rapid with each day.
