Out and About

One of the great things about having a young child is that it forces you to think of new things to do.  Even better, though, is that you begin to see things in a new light.  Normal, everyday, mundane things often become exciting and fun because you get to share them with somebody who has never experienced it before...

Our apartment overlooks Elliott Bay, so Andrew can see the cruise ships and ferry boats every day as they come in and out of Seattle.  However, he has never been on a boat before, so today we decided to take the ferry to Bainbridge Island.

Of course, we missed the intended ferry by about two minutes, so we decided to take a stroll around downtown while we waited for the next boat.  Since Andrew isn't a huge fan of waiting around for things, he was Very excited to get out and discover the fun things in a city - luckily for us, he was so fascinated by the first thing he saw, that we didn't have to chase him around too much:

Although he wasn't too eager to leave the construction behind, hopping on the boat that he always sees was quite the treat.

Andrew was glued to the railing of the ship where he could see the city slowly disappear and the other boats criss-cross around the bay...
