A Season of Firsts for Baby Andrew

What a season of firsts for the Greatorex Family. Baby Andrew's culinary interests have expanded to include everything from bananas, apples, peaches, pears, and even prunes to carrots, peas, squash, and yams. He is quite the gourmand, and is finally getting a cute little belly to prove it. I love that I can feed him at the table when we're out or in the backseat on our way home from a weekend getaway.

In the last three months, he has gone from rolling over to crawling on his belly after a ball, reaching for toys, passing objects from hand to hand, and even standing holding on to the coffee table. Baby Drew entertains himself really well now, either scootting himself backwards in his walker, jumping in his jumperoo, and/or sitting up surrounded by his favorite toys - this week's favorites include an empty water bottle, tupperware full of popcorn, and an old magazine. He takes steps holding our fingers, and gets so excited at his progress, that some times he even stops, kicks his legs and squeals. Now that little Andrew has discovered various options for better mobility, he refuses to sit still . . . thus Jeffrey and I take turns at church on Sunday walking the halls, or the back of the classroom.

Bath time just gets better and better too. When we were living in Kansas City this past summer, we bathed our new little baby in the bathroom sink. Weeks before we prepared to move back to Salt Lake City, he graduated to the deeper kitchen sink for his daily scrub. Now, little Drew not only takes his bath in the bathtub, but he sits up and plays. I think his favorite part of bathtime is watching the water flow from the faucet and likewise drain from the tub.

He is still as curious as ever. In fact, he has passed the stage of pulling hair, to playing with the brass buttons on my sweater, and pulling the glasses off of grandpa's face. Even more, Andrew LOVES spending time outside. . . especially sitting on the fence watching the cars drive by - his little head goes back and forth like he's watching a tennis match. . .Whatever the activity, though, he just squeals with joy when we take him outside and he can feel the fresh air, see all the different colors, and hear the various noises.
