After riding the train at the zoo, we visited the Portland Children Museum. We did not anticipate quite the crowd on the holiday weekend, but Andrew had a great time playing in the water and doing various other activities as well. As parents it was really fun to see him so excited about everything!
Much to Andrew's delight, the museum also featured a train room. The only thing that could have made him happier, was if he had brought ALL of his own trains from home.
After the Children's Museum, Andrew got to climb on board an old, retired steam engine and even take his turn at driving the locomotive.
The following morning we enjoyed some divine donuts from Voo-Doo Donuts (which we were told were a must) and ate fresh clam chowder at the Old Town Market while we enjoyed the music of local artists. We hope to visit Portland again soon!
Oh, and yes, we even squeezed in a little time to play at the park adjacent to the Rose Gardens. We were told it was a beautiful place to visit . . . we only wish we had come a few months earlier to see at the varieties in bloom.
