A Spoon Full of Sugar...

Mary Poppins was one of my favorite movies as a child - My sister Sarah and I made our poor older siblings watch it multiple times a day, every day.  Maybe I should have felt bad about subjecting them to that torture, but I was entranced by the essential life lessons Ms Poppins was providing- or at least I thought she was.  I later found out, sometimes the hard way, that Ms Poppins had magic powers that I was unable to achieve - i.e. I can't jump into chalk drawings on the sidewalk, nor can I fit, especially so quickly, into those tiny chimneys all around town.

The one lesson I did internalize, though, holds true to this day: A spoon full of sugar really does make the medicine go down.  And rather than risk Andrew torturing me with countless hours of Mary Poppins, we went for the more hands-on approach.

If you know Andrew at all, you know this sad little face is not at all like him.  Colds will do that to ya..

Avoiding the movie, but proving the lesson via a pedialyte popsicle - Yep, definitely helps the meds go down...

And we have to admit, there are some nice things about your kids being sick - A lot more cuddling, and much longer naps!

It only lasted a day or two luckily, and Andrew is back to his normal self...

And Cristina, being the great mom she is, gave him a tiny reward for being such a good boy while he was sick...
